Does the acai berry work in aiding weight loss?

Question by Future Mrs. Schrute: Does the acai berry work in aiding weight loss?
I'm trying to lose ten pounds or so. I workout everyday with high intensity pilates followed by 45 minutes of cardio and strength training. I eat roughly 700 calories today consisting of very little carbohydrates. Would the acai berry work for me?

  1. First of all you need to eat more than 700 calories a day. Any nutritionist will tell you that is NOT healthy. Second...the acai "pills" won't do anything for you. Don't believe the hype! The pills contain ground up acai seeds, skin, and everything, as well as fillers. You need to eat the actual fruit to get the best benefit. Try eating blueberries, pomegranite, and other dark berries. They contain large amounts of antioxidents and are great for your body and skin. Eat in moderation. All these diet pills and crap are just a SCAM to get your money. Fresh produce and as little processed food as possible is your best bet. Good luck!
Also........switch up your workout routine every 6 weeks or so. You need to work different muscles, and will get quicker results this way.

  2. It's a scam.

The pushers say it will work with diet and exercise.

    Guess what..

Diet and exercise alone will work and will not empty your wallet.

    It is simple.

Weight gain = calories eaten > calories used.

Weight loss = calories eaten < calories used.

It does not matter where the calories come from the standpoint
    of energy budget.

Go to your local library and check out the "Shangri La Diet" -
a NYT bestseller by Seth Roberts. It is not a "real" diet per se.
It shows a healthy way to suppress your appetite.
